General information:
Start Thursday 25 th May 10.00 at Karlstad Theatre in the
heart of the city.
The evening before the race a information meeting will take
place at Hotell Gustaf Fröding. The information will be held in
English as well as all documents.
After the first day of racing (Prolog, the whole track for
the Sprint class), mostly held in and in the surroundings
of Karlstad, usually with many spectators, the
race goes west from Karlstad. The racers will have a great first loop. The team will mountain bike,
trekk, swim, paddle canoes and use Inlines during this ~20
H turn until they return back to Karlstad. This first loop will also include some ropeworks and will be the
whole track for the Light class (The Prolog included). The
second loop will take the teams east from Karlstad. A fast speed and long mountain bike stage will take the team to a
great area for a trekking section. After some more time on the
bikes the race will end with a canoe section all the way to the
finish line at the big square in the middle of Karlstad.
In 2004 and 2005 we had about 75 teams on the track. About 25 in
the main class, 35 in Light and 15 in the Sprint class. We had
teams from Sweden, Norway (in 2004 one with former WC in MTB, Rune Höydahl), Denmark, Finland and
Poland. Some more mixed international teams also use to come to our
race. Almost every swedish adventure racer has made their
adventure race debut in this legendary competition!
We continue to keep the entry-cost low. After 1/3 2006 we will
increase the fee. Until 15/4 the whole entry will be paid back
if the team have cancel their entries. After 15/4, no entries
will be returned.
The entire includes rent of canoes, life jacket, paddles and
canoe cart. The support team must transport the canoes during
the race. The organisation can transport the canoe for a cost of
50 € per canoe (100 € for a team with 2 canoes, the main
class).
The organisation must know if the team or the org. shall convey
the canoes before 15/4. Also payment shall be done before 15/4.
In special cases payment for just canoe convey, can be done at
arrival in Karlstad.
Welcome to Värmland - Sweden! We’ll guarantee you real “Värmländska altitudes” and big
smiles!
